Gröna Gubbar Från Y.R. (Green Men From Y.R) was a Swedish science fiction movie directed by Hans Hatwig. Hatwig was a photographer for the Swedish poster magazine Poster in the 70s. Then he founded the youth magazine Okej (published between 1980 and 2010). After just four years it was the best selling magazine in Sweden. It was sold in 156 000 copies and was read by 500 000 teenagers which means it was read by almost everybody of the targeted group. The success was total. The magazine has now reached a legendary status in Sweden and all who were teenager back in the 80s loved it. The western series Macahan / How The West Was Won was a major TV success in Sweden and one of the favourites among the youth were the indian Vargtass (Wolf Paw) played by Duane Loken who appeared in Okej a lot at the time. Hatwig managed to sign Loken to the movie for a minor role and he managed to get a budget for 3 million Swedish kronor. He would also be able to promote the movie in his own magazine and reach 500 000 teenagers. It all looked like a success and a clear winner on paper. Anyone born in the lates 60s or in 70s probably remembers all these green men in the Okej magazine in the mid 80s. The film premiered on 26 March 1986 and was only seen by approx 11 000 cinemagoers. The film is largely shot at Skara Sommarland and Bert Karlsson has two roles, which the press described as shameless advertising for the facility. The movie failed but many remembers the movie from the magazine but never saw it so it was released on dvd in Sweden in 2007 and were sold out immediately. So that sci-fi turkey finally became a cult movie. The movie also needed a soundtrack and a band was put together called The Bubbles. This 4-piece act travelled to K.G.R Studios and during the first two months of 1986 recorded the soundtrack that were made up by 12-tracks that were written by Europe/Easy Action guitarist Kjell Kee Marcello Lövbom together with Noice and Easy Action member Peo Thyren. Three of the members of The Bubbles, vocalist Leif Alderskanz, bass player Roger Nordström and drummer Christopher Nordström formed the AOR act Swedes that released the Dont Break My Heart Again single in 1989. The album was then distributed by Bert Karlsson’s Mariann records
