The Burning play modern yet uncompromising groovy thrash metal, reminding of bands such as HateSphere but also a little of The Haunted. The Burnings thought-provoking lyrical themes of war, religion, and soul searching is barked out with ratty death metal inspired growls, and more traditional metal screams. There are no twin guitars here so the use of a single guitar brings the bass in the front, giving to their sound a certain dynamic. The songs remain focused on the neck snapping rhythm grooves with a fast drum work and on the guitar leading riffs that have completely replaced the solos. Despite the fact that the album adds nothing groundbreaking to our beloved extreme noise music scene it can give away some enjoyable moments of relentless headbanging and moshing. The Burning features Rasmus Normand from Panzerchrist.
