Ascending from Perth, Western Australia in 2002, The Furor is a black metal act formed by Dizazter, the drummer of the mighty Impiety. Their Double Armageddon album, (well i guess one Armageddon isnt enough, if you want to be a real bad ass then it needs to be a double Armageddon), is a compilation album featuring two EPs on one album. The Assault By Fire EP form 2008 and Sermon Of Slaughter from 2012. There are also two previously unreleased bonus tracks. Their debut album received excellent reviews throughout Australia and abroad, spread waves of rampant curiosity throughout the underworld and earned The Furor accolades for ‘Best Band of 2004’ and ‘Best Release of 2004’ on Western Australia’s premiere metal website ‘The Western Front’. The band has then supporting acts such as Nile and Behemoth and Dizazter have also been touring with Impiety. And respect needs to be paid to Dizaster for doing most of the work behind this band. This music is insanely fast and the vocals are black metal to the bone. Just listen to the click clack of those drums and constantly shifting guitar riffs. Add the thrashy soloing into the mix and things get pretty fierce. I can hear everything from Slayer and Immortal to Behemoth. The first EP Assault By Fire probably has a more death metal approach to the songwriting while the Sermon Of Slaughter mater shows even tighter arrangements, clearer direction and the usual catastrophic intensity, the results are utterly crushing and invigorating, as has always been the case with every release of The Furor.
