The Juliana Theory is a Pennsylvania quintet that started in the emo scene but separated themselves with electronic atmosphere and arena rock flair. The band’s 2005 album, Deadbeat Sweetheartbeat, features major-key pop punk/emo-core tracks with five star greatness. You have everything from snarling anger to gentle and absorbing music. This is labelled emo rock but there isnt much similarity between My Chemical Romance and The Juliana Theory. But if you like early My Chemical Romance then its a very strong chance you might likewise dig the anger in this album as well. Their previous last album, Love, released in 2003, seemed to be a bit of a departure from their normal style, this album successfully combines their earlier hooky songrwriting with Love’s rock power.
