The Moon-Rays is a surf act that are influenced by everything from James Bond to Vampira, their music is spooky, hip, danceable but most of all it is cool. The songs are put together with zest, passion, and cleverly cool orchestrations. Nice to hear this kind of music played by people who honestly love it. Both tracks are taken from their album, Thrills And Chills, an album that was voted best instrumental release of 2002 on all three top three rock radio stations in Chicago. Not bad for a spook band that started out with an idea to mix spy-surf with a Halloween overtones. The band says: “We were all fans of the Man from UNCLE, Mission Impossible and such, as well as the “Ventures In Space” album and wanted to do something that had that same kind of feel to it but with a little more of a Mancini edge.
