The Stone is a sinister black metal entity formed in 1996. Located in Belgrade, Serbia. The band has never ceased to embrace the darkness as the primal mark on its artistic shoulders and with plethora of releases, tours and festival appearances under their belt, proved to be one of the strongest and uncompromised musical entities over the past three decades. Their ninth album, Kosturnice (the Serbian word for Ossuaries). The opus captures the unison of raw, old-school riffing, masterfully delivered drums, throbbing bass lines, haunting screams, and guttural-like vocals which resound throughout otherworldly melodies. The lyrical themes explored on Kosturnice range from ritual sacrifice, the afterlife, spiritual decrepitude, and realization of one’s worst nightmares to mass murder, the depravity of warfare, and nuclear end-times. If there’s an underlying theme that connects all of the songs on the album is the omnipresent death.
