The Who as they were from 1967 through 1973 are the subject of this dvd anthology, which features lots of TV apperaces the band did between those years as well as 5 tracks recorded live at the Monterey Pop Festival on the 16th of June 1967. See material from classic TV shows like Top Of The Pops, beat Clun, Discorama, Old Grey Whistle Test and Musikladen and many more. Theres also a clip from American TV and The Smothers Brothers’ Comedy Hour for, alas, a mimed rendition of “I Can See for Miles” in color, and a mimed performance in black-and-white from a British show called Twice a Fortnight and then it’s back to Germany’s Beat Club for a quartet of late-’60s songs, “Pinball Wizard,” “Smash the Mirror,” “Sally Simpson,” and “Were Not Gonna Take It.” What more? Well another mimed “I Can See for Miles,” from Pop Goes the Sixties in 1969 and other fun things from these glorious years.
