One of the most howlingly bizarre artifacts to come out of the fertile rock band goes to secluded place to record and gets attacked by monsters horror movie subgenre, Rock n Roll Nightmare (aka The Edge Of Hell) was written by and starred Canadian bodybuilder/singer Jon Mikl Thor. The soundtrack (also him and his fictional band Tritonz) contains exactly the kind of ragingly stupid hair metal you’d expect from a mid-thirties Vancouverite multi-hyphenate. Despite sounding like it was actually recorded in the movie’s barn-based recording studio, songs like the Lick It Up knockoff Live It Up, thrash-tastic final showdown backing track The Challenge, and especially the workout anthem Energy make for some fun music to blast out of your van on those long, long country drives.
