Tigertailz -Wazbones lp [red]

Product Description

Red vinyl with lyric insert

After the moderate success of the amazing “Bezerk”, Welsch glam rockers Tigertailz experienced problems with their record label and two members left. The follow up Wazbones was delayed for several years, when it finally came out in ’95 the world had lost what little interest it had. The band adopted a much harsher approach compared tp “Berzerk”, itself considered a hard album for a hairspray band (they even had a known thrash producer to oversee “Bezerk”). The album opens with samples leading into two cuts that were already live favourites (written with previous guitarist Jay Pepper): T. Y. F. H. O. and an exuberant Dirty Needles. Harsher vocals from Kim Hooker and more than a hint of the (then) grunge generation show the band able to adapt to new territories, particularly with tracks like “Pigface”. Glimpses of old style Tailz still show up, particularly with trademark catchy choruses and some cart wheeling riffs. Perhaps the best of both worlds is seen in the song Perish; a composition by all four members of the band, Pepsi Tate’s bass overlayed by Cy Danaher’s riffing, and Andy Skinner pounding out the beat with great enthusiasm on his first recording since joining the band several years before. Unfortunately after the release of this album the band split up. Its a shame as the band were hungry on this album and they still had alot to offer
