Tony Carey first joined the music business when he played with Richie Blackmore's Rainbow in the mid-'70s. Moving to Germany in 1978, Carey began recording and releasing a few albums on the small X records and also with his Planet P project. In 1982, he emerged on MTV for the first time with the terrific single song ‘I Won't Be Home Tonight’. The video was simple but fun, and the song is very catchy. The album ‘I Won't Be Home Tonight’ has always been called Tony Carey's first solo release because the X records albums ‘Heaven’, ‘Explorer’, ‘No Human’, ‘Yellow Power’, ‘T.C.P.’ and the solo album ‘In The Absence Of The Cat’ are all extremely rare and hard to find. ‘I Wont Be Home Tonight’ still stands the time. Its simply superb and not only worth buying but you will be extactic when you hear it if for the first time. This is a very strong album and it mixes some good rocking tunes together with the great melodic writing of Mr. Carey.
