When you put together a band with members from Gemini Five, Crashdiet and Lipstixx N Bullet you automatically raise a lot of expectations. But don’t worry their self titled debut mini album really delivers. The opening song, A Song For The Weak, does exactly what the press release pointed out; powerful and catchy riffing, commanding vocals that stretch the Glam style into the Power Metal and true Metal realms. It has a killer chorus and hook filled lyrics. Set Me Free is a track filled with pure energy that keeps the same vibe of guitar and raw vocals that the opening track. It’s a track that blends the power chords and harmonies so perfectly that you really feel that this band is an entity. Follow Me uses strong keyboards all throughout the song and it adds another dimension to the band. Black Bile adds even more versatility when it starts off with an futuristic atmosphere followed by a keyboards riff then in seconds changes into a beautiful guitar riff, a great catchy rhythm and again an harmonic multiple vocals channels in the chorus, by far the best song of the release, well done. Ending the disc is a heavy dose of in your face rock with Fear Lingers On ala Judas Priest with a touch of sleaze. In conclusion, Toxicrose has great riffs, melodic sound, very catchy chorus and Andy has a raw sound to his vocals that really draws you in. If you like sleaze and glam with a heavier edge than you will love this band.
