Excellent Nwobhm from South Wales. Traitors Gate started back in 1982. There five track demo from 1984 scored them a deal with Bullet records. Looking back on the contract deal then band says it was more out of desperation than careful thought. The original demo recording was pressed up as a 12’ EP. The band would have love to have re-recorded the tracks for the vinyl but Bullet didn’t have the money and due to all the financial and distributable problems the EP didn’t see the light of day until 1985. When the EP was released both Andy Turner had left to form Monro. Traitors Gate went through some line-up changes but disbanded later in 1985. The ‘Devil Takes The High Road’ three tracker was undoubtedly the most impressive of all releases which came from the Bullet label. The original pressing is very collectable and hard to find and it truly deserves to be a part of every serious Nwobhm collection. This re-release also features 3-tracks recorded in 1980 when the band were going under the name of Quest.
