Troyan was a NWOBHM band that recorded a demo back in 1981 that got them signed to Neat Records. The contract with Neat Records didnt lead to anything as the band split up in 1983 before anything was released. Asked by the organisers of the UK’s Brofest festival in 2014 if they’d consider reforming, Baddley tracked down the original band and, at first, they agreed to get together just for one gig “and one gig only; no recording or anything like that,” says Baddley. Further offers from other festivals soon changed their collective minds, and although at that point Strathearn realised he couldn’t commit to anything long-term so parted company with the band, Karl Altdorfer joined as the new bassist and Troyen were up-and-running once more, making their debut at Brofest 2015. Although there have been some changes along the way, the past five years have seen Troyen active both onstage and in the studio. A few cdR recordings were made and released between 2017 and 2019 before the band finally released a real pressed full length album, Falling Off The Edge Of Forever, in 2021. The band followed this album with Unfinished Business in 2024. The album openers, The Man I Used To Be, shows that this band still has lots of vigour and energy even so many years down the line. The bands NWOBHM roots can be heard but its amazing to hear that they can crank out so good stuff even today. Unfinished Business is well crafted and features varied heaviness with melodic elements. A matured band that has released an intelligent and muched enjoyed hard rock album
