Description
2012 cd version Not only was Trust one of the few French bands able to cross their country's frontiers, but they also made it without having to drop their native language or their half-punk, half-heavy metal ethics along the way. And that's saying something. The band was formed in 1977 and they released their first single the year after. Trust rose to fame in 1979 and 1980 with a music mixing hard rock influences with acerbic social and political commentary with anarchist and anti-Soviet undertones, with a renegade attitude à la MC5. The style of singer Bernie Bonvoisin was compared to that of Bon Scott from AC/DC, with which Trust had a friendly relationship. Trust was musically a shiny killing machine with the amazing talent guitarist Nono however besides these two the band were unable to find a solid roster of players, a curse which would dog the band throughout its entire lifespan. On Trust third album ‘Marche Ou Creve’ in France and ‘Savage’ in England the band had Nicko McBrain on drums. For that album they went out on a ten date tour through Germany to support Iron Maiden. After that tour the band informed McBrain that they could no longer afford to pay him. At the same time Iron Maiden were searching for a replacement for Clive Burr so McBrain was offered the position as Iron Maidens new drummer. Trust teamed up with Farid Medjane as the new drummer for the recording of their fourth album ‘Trust IV’ (also known as ‘Ideal’ or/and ‘Par Compromission’) in France and ‘Mans Trap’ in England. However after the recording of the French and English version of the album Farid left and quite bizarre the band got the ex-Iron Maiden drummer Clive Burr to join them for the following live gigs. This was going to be the last time the band recorded their albums in both English and French. After this tour they gave up the ideas of international recognition and opted to solely concentrate on the French market. The album was released in both French and English language with different cover artworks. This is the English version. Track listing: 1. Hell On The Seventh 2. Uptown Martyrs 3.
