The only constant in Tsjuders discography is their love for the rawest and most violent forms of music. Starting back in 1993, the group fronted by vocalist/bassist Nag (also in Krypt) never compromised its sound, and built a solid reputation with great albums like Kill for Satan, Demonic Possession and Desert Northern Hell. Despite a split in 2006 and a reformation four years later, Tsjuder came back in full form with the much anticipated Legion Helvete album. Which brings us to their 2015 effort: Antiliv. As usual with these guys, Antiliv is a straight forward black metal album with some thrash-inspired riffs here and there. Nothing to digest too much, just a mixture of pure evil and satanic debauchery. If you have heard Tsjuder before, you’ll feel as this is the soundtrack to the end of the world. To the always familiar Norwegian black metal riffing, guitarist Draugluin adds influences of early German thrash legends like Sodom, while Nag screams his heart out in every single song. On the other hand, if you haven’t heard them yet, you’ll be glad to give them a chance. Antiliv is nothing but enjoyable black metal in the vein of early instigators of this sound. Yes, nothing elaborate or bombastic really, but that’s where the talent of Nag and Co. resides: in making a great and fun record made out of elements that sound fresh still after 30 years of being created.
