Description

Wow what an amazing album for the true S.M.F. There are many out there who fondly remembers when Twisted Sister played local clubs. Twisted was so raw and powerful (and don't forget LOUD!). The audience would go absolutely wild for them and anyone who ever saw them back then (and even now) will always remember the energy Twisted Sister puts out on stage. They were without a doubt THE best club/bar band of the late 70's early 80's. This album is not for the average Twisted Sister fan…..this is for all the real S.M.F's that remember Twisted from the old days before they made it big. When ever purchasing a new release of an old concert, the main concern is the sound quality, which for this recording made at the Detroit Club, Port Chester in New York on the 23th of June 1979 is good, an FM radio broadcast. Liner notes are interesting, if a little brief but concentrate more on their early career, rather that the concert it's self. The show consists mostly of tracks from the Club Daze, Studio Sessions (excellent record) with the addition of the song Chinese Hustle, which is the first time I hear. The crowd are up for it from the very first note and as always Dee Snider is the master front man, holding the crowd in the palm of his hand throughout the entire show (which last nearly 78 minutes). There's also some great banter, especially Dee ranting about Disco and a gas shortage (which give the concert a bit of historical contents). So if you're a fan Of Twisted Sister in their formative years (before they became the darlings of MTV), then this record is a pretty perfect example of that period in the bands early development. So buy this album and remember…..Play It Loud Mutha!!! Track listing: 1. Rock N Roll Saviors 2. Pay The Price 3. Follow Me 4. Under The Blade 5. Cant Stand Still 6. Ladys Boy 7. Workin On You Baby 8. Come Back 9. Great Balls Of Fire 10. Without You 11. Chinese Hustle 12. Ill Never Grow Up Now 13. Train Kept A Rollin
