Following his 1987 exit from the German power metal band Accept, vocalist Udo Dirkschneider formed U.D.O. (Udo Dirkschneider orchestra) and his solo debut ‘Animal House’ was in fact written by Dirkschneider’s former mates in Accept. After the fourth album ‘Timebomb’ in 1991 the band split since Udo were rejoining Accept when the reunited. After Accept broke up again in 1996 Udo reformed his solo career with Dieth, Schwarzmann, guitarist Stefan Kaufmann and bassist Michael Voss to contribute a track to the Judas Priest tribute album Legends of Metal, only Schwarzmann and Kaufmann remained on board for 1997’s fifth full-length album ‘Solid’, which featured new guitarist Jürgen Graf-Biardi and bassist Fitty Weinhold. If you like solid heavy metal with some harsch screeching vocals they way only Udo can delivers them then buy this one.
