Description

A great sounding live collection from there near peak era in 1974 and 1975. The album mopens with five tracks recorded live at The Golders Green Hippodrome in London on the 6th of June 1974. This is probably the highlight as it features the rare pairing of Michael Schenker and Paul Chapman on lead guitar. ‘Tonka’ Chapman dipped in and out of UFO’s line up in the early days before taking over officially from Schenker in 1979. ‘Oh My’, ‘Built For Comfort’ and Space Child’ really benefit from the (ultimately doomed) twin lead guitar experiment. The first side ends and the second side begins with a track each from a Bob Harris session later the same year, by which time Tonka had moved on. ‘Time On My Hands’ is a bluesy stretch only captured rarely the properly excellent, boogie driven ‘Give Her The Gun’ is a joy. This was the first single recorded by the Schenker-era line up in ’73, but didn’t make the album. The remaining tracks on side B were recorded at the Paris Theatre in London on the 11th of December 1975. The band is in blistering form, rattling through four tracks from ‘Force It’ and ‘Rock Bottom‘ from ‘Phenomemon’’, all tracks that would be live staples for years. As i said great sound and Michael Schenker at his mercurial best. This is a must for any Schenker or/and Ufo fan
