Rare out of print original pressing on Noise records The story of V2 actually starts with the band S.A.D.O.. S.A.D.O. gained inevitable media attention from their pornographic imagry and lewd stage show akin to a Hamburg Sex Show. Paradoxically, the music turned out to be straightforward, no frills melodic Hard Rock. Having debuted with the much hyped 'Shout' album of 1984 for Noise Records, S.A.D.O.'s line-up drastically altered by the time of the second album, 1987's 'Circle Of Friends'. The band at this point was included longterm members Andre Cook and Matti Krebs together with ex-Digger bassist Chris V. Brank, guitarists Simon DBrouier and Alexander W Reich. A huge split in the ranks would occur after 'Circle Of Friends' emerged as guitarists Simon D'Brouier and Alexander W Reich plus drummer Matti Krebs quit to form V2, which left Andre Cook in sole control of S.A.D.O. The V2 line-up was completed with bass player Robert Hanke and Fair Warning, Zeno and Uli Jon Roth vocalist Tommy Heart. S.A.D.O. had released albums on Noise records and it was also Noise that made sure the signed up V2 directly. The band found themselves recording their eponymous album at Skytrax Studios with producer Dave Hutchins just within months of finding a complete line-up. The band was put out as support act to Helloween on their 1988 British tour and the band gained favourable reviews. However all was not well within the V2 camp though and vocalist Tommy Heart was superseded by Ralf Dohanertz for the second album. The band also fired bass player Hanke and guitarist Alexander Reich switched to bass. The found new strength when they added guitarist Joannis Steeva. Their second album 'Out To Launch' was released on Noise rec in October of 1990. ‘Out To Launch’ is a really good effort and ranks highly among other German hard rock groups like Jaded Heart, Bonfire, Zeno and Casanova.
