Description

Vault was a Dutch heavy metal act that released their debut, No More Escape, in 1983. That album is a minor gem when it comes to traditional metal from Holland. However it was a self financed release and many people missed out on this album when it was released. The single Hell Of A Block was also released and the band went out touring. The band toured Holland and Belgium and their shows managed to attract the attention of the Belgium label Mausoleum who rushed out a record deal which the band signed. The band started working on their follow up album, to be called Sword Of Steel. However when the album was recorded and ready to go in for print the label went bankrupt and the recording got shelved. Burning Eyes – The Anthology features both this album as well as the single which makes it a must have for fans of pure early 80s heavy metal. The record is characterized by a filthy sound that’s consistent with the era the songs were recorded and embrace you with a warm and simultaneously badass attitude that’s almost charming.
