One of all the albums in the famous ‘Assault’ series. Just what Venom were hoping to achieve with their many mini ‘Assault’ LP releases of the mid-’80s is anyone’s guess (maybe they were supposed to make up for the band’s endless last-minute cancelling of tours due to lack of financial support). Canadian Assault features an all-live first side, featuring unique versions of seminal classics like ‘Die Hard’ and ‘Welcome To Hell’. This certainly has its moments, but side two’s studio originals (‘Warhead’, ‘Woman’) don’t really rank among Venom’s best efforts. This one was originally only released in Canada but were distributed and sold in a lot more countries
