Just what Venom were hoping to achieve with their many mini ‘Assault’ LP releases of the mid-’80s is anyone’s guess (maybe they were supposed to make up for the band’s endless last-minute cancelling of tours due to lack of financial support), but ‘French Assault’ was originally only released in France back in 1985
