Originally a solo project by singer and multi-instrumentalist Will Hunter, Vevaki is a folk band which draws from Nordic heathenism and animistic traditions. Myth, ritual and a connection with the natural world feed Vevakis music, which is both contemporary in sound and wide-ranging in instrumentation.
Vevaki’s second album, Fornspeki, finds the band expanding upon their sound while staying true to their folk roots and traditions. Fornspeki will transport you to another time and space. Somehow remembering a time where simple truth prevailed. We all can use a little of that. This band is coming off as far more authentic than Wardruna and about as epic, even though far more subdued than, Heilung.
