With a decade between releases, Vildhjarta remain as inscrutable and as close to anonymity as a band can be. Their down-tuned, staccato riffs and pulverizing grooves are the sound of music stripped to it’s essence. Formed in 2005 in Hudiksvall, Sweden, Vildhjarta has become an institution of omission. From their origins, they were unafraid to embrace the untraditional. They have some amazing musical textures that makes the whole thing super interesting. However you cant put a label on the band and if you have trouble discerning between black metal and death metal then throw in all the psychedelic parts the band use and you know you cant label this. Strong song structes then soft breaks and building tension makes the music unique and memorable. The Forte edition is the new remixed and remastered version. This new mix sounds more consistent with their follow up album, Måsstaden Under Vatten. If you have the original version then buy this one too as theres even more to enjoy from this version. If you havent heard Vildhjarta then they perform some of the darkest, heaviest, most technical music out there interspersed with some beautiful calm breaks.
