Back in the early 90s, a group of grumpy Frenchmen formed a sort of circle of bands and projects that became quickly renowned for their abrasive, unstructured music and very underproduced sound, as well as for a true spirit of anger and misanthropy that few people could recognize but which became quintessential to real black metal at around this time. Vlad Tepes is, along with Mutiilation, undoubtedly the most well-known of this elitist circle. In November of 1994 the band recorded the Celtic Poetry demo. Its raw and fuzzy white some dark riffings. Its only four tracks but the first one has a running time for over 12 minutes and is the centre on this recording. Its epic and its even contains a melodic guitar riff. This riff is among the most recognizable riffs in Vlad Tepes history. Overall a very solid demo and for those who follows this band know that you can expect this cavelike sound.
