Description
Von Panzer is a Swedish hard rock/heavy metal band from Norrköping formed back in 2005. Three years later the band released their self-titled debut album that received good reviews in several newspaper and music magazine’s. Jump forward to 2016 and the band released their fourth album, Army. The album opens with the crescendo building and atmosphere setting The Sight Of Navarone, before launching into The Guns Of Navarone. A menacing and thunderous track inspired by the 1957 novel of the same name. On the second half of the album we have the heaviest track, As The World Burns. This track should be heavy enough for doom fans while it is followed by the rockiest tune, Inside Outside. Drummer and founder of the band Niclas Klajja Kleist says he is inspired by 70s bands such as Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep and Deep Purple as much as doomsters like Cathedral and Candlemass. And even if this album has traces of hard rock and heavy metal its overall a doom metal album as it really has some slow and mid tempo and heavy riffs.
