Vreid rose from the ashes of the band Windir after the death of frontman Valfar. They were formed by three former Windir members and a new guitarist, Ese, who was replaced by former Windir guitarist Strom in 2010, making the connection with Windir even stronger than before. Their sixth studio album Welcome Farewell was produced by the band themselves to give them their trademark sounds that is loved by their fans. This is Norweigan black metal mixed with 70s and 80s metal
