When multi-band guitar-shredder Rogga Johansson (Revolting, Paganizer etc) and his companion Peter Svensson (Void Moon, Heir Corpse One) teamed up with former Centinex drummer Nicke Olsson they talked about recording some old school death metal that captures the vibe of early 90’s Swedish death metal, the sound of Dismember, Grave and Unleashed, and mix it with the best of the early 80s extreme metal band such as Hellhammer and Venom. The result could be heard on their 2021 debut Foreverwar. Their second album took 4 years and during those years Olsson left and was replaced by drummer Thomas Ohlsson (Stass, ex-F.K.U). Atomic Rites, the title track from the album explores the story behind the first atomic bomb and The Manhattan Project, while songs like Shattered Mind address the psychological aftermath of war, particularly PTSD among veterans. With Atomic Rites, War Magic cements its presence in the Swedish Death Metal scene, delivering a devastating combination of old-school heaviness and haunting atmosphere.
