W.A.S.P. are a band that, despite having a career that spans twenty eight years, still show no sign of slowing down, or for that matter changing. Blackie Lawless formed W.A.S.P. in the early eighties, and this heavy-metal four-piece have repeatedly proved that great music is timeless. Thus it was no surprise when W.A.S.P. played to a highly appreciative audience at the 2009 edition of the Hellfest festival in France, on the 19th of June 2009, that it would go down as a storm. In 2009 the band were out to promote their latest album, Babylon, but since it was a festival where many experienced Wasp for the first time, the band decided to go with their hits. We got Take Me Up from the Dominator album otherwise it was mostly tracks from the six first albums. There must have been some delays because when the band went out for the encores; I Wanna Be Somebody and Blind In Texas, Down started to play on the other big stage which created some sort of mess for the visitors standing inbetween those two stages. This didnt seem to bother Wasp at all, they continued and left the stage under applause and whistles thanking them for a great show before heading over to see Down.
