2014 re-issue on red vinyl

Danish metal act that released this album originally back in 1984. This is 80s heavy metal but pretty primal firmly rooted in the time period it was originally released, so don’t expect great production values or high quality songwriting here. To be honest, this brings back memories of those tape trading days, where you’d find yourself in possession of no shortage of rough sounding demos of countless bands in varying degree of quality. Wasted fall somewhere in between those obscure NWOBHM acts and the early Venom, Possessed, Hellhammer, and Slayer material, like a meeting of classic metal and thrash. “Goodbye” rages along like a punk fuelled early thrash tune. The whole affair sounds like it was recorded on an old cassette player in a garage, yet, to many, that very well might be the appeal. As a little slice of heavy metal nostalgia, I can see where some fans might feel the need to seek this one out, but just make sure you know what you are getting yourself into before you buy. Some cool riffs in spots, a few galloping rhythms, but overall this is really rough around the edges.
