Description
Waysted was founded by one of the chief songwriters in Ufo, Pete Way. Pete Way left Ufo in 1985 then went through both Ozzy Osbourne and Fastway before he founded his own band in 1983. The original line-up had a young Scot by the name of Fin Muir on vocals. However it was soon clear that Mrs. Muir's little boy was cut of the same clothe as many other fine Scottish rock singers (Frankie Miller, Alex Harvey and Dan Macaferty to name but a few). He was exactly what the band needed and he would stay through the bands three first albums, ‘Vices’ in 1983, ‘Waysted’ in 1984 and ‘The Good The Bad The Waysted’ in 1985. In late 1986 (after a great fourth album, the melodic masterpiece Save Your Prayers with Danny Vaughn on vocals) the band split up. In April of 2003, Pete Way surprised everyone when he revealed that Waysted, including Paul Chapman and original vocalist Fin Muir, had reformed. During late 2004 the details of a brand new album, entitled suitably enough 'Back From The Dead', were unveiled. However Chapman had quit in protest when his guitar parts on the album were re-recorded by Chris George, a veteran of Greg Ridley's Humble Pie. ‘Back From The Dead’ was mixed by Robin George and it feels like going through a time warp. Pete Way and Fin Muir seem like they've been recording together over the past twenty years they've been apart. Strong vocals, tight drumming and expressive guitar work. Traditional heavy blues/hard rock, the way it should be done. If you are a fan of the original Waysted, this will not disappoint. Songs like Alternativa and Breakfast Show are classic Waysted Rock-N-Roll. Track listing: 1. The Alternativa 2. Garden Of Eden 3. Dreams 4. Must B More 2 It Than This 5. The Price Of Love 6. Breakfast Show 7. Im Gonna Love Ya 8. Lost In Cleveland
