Description

Official mega rare original Fan Club only tape. Grey cassette with black texture. Catalogue number: WOW-Z01 While she never earned the critical acclaim of artists like Patti Smith, Siouxsie Sioux, or Exene Cervenka, for many Wendy O. Williams was the first female face of punk rock. As the lead singer of the Plasmatics, Williams proved a woman could dish out on-stage mayhem as well as any man — hoisting a chainsaw or a sledgehammer, Williams routinely destroyed guitars, smashed televisions, blew up automobiles, and generally left a trail of destruction in her wake. Williams also blended sex with anarchy, often appearing on stage stripped to the waist with shaving cream or electrical tape covering her nipples as a towering Mohawk bloomed from her scalp, creating a vision of a wildly empowered outlaw woman whose echoes would be felt in music and culture long after the Plasmatics called it quits. Her first solo album, simply called W.O.W was released in 84. None other than Gene Simmons of Kiss produced the record and he also added a few bass lines to it. The album also included guest appearances by Kiss members Paul Stanley and Ace Frehley. It was with her first solo album she finally go the respect she deserved so much. The first single from the album, Its My Life became a minor hit. This cassette was released in early 1985 under the moniker Wendy O. Williams / WOW. It was an exclusive 3-track live EP cassette that only was available through the WOW Fan Club and remaining copies could also be bought at the first shows during her 1986 U.S. tour. The three tracks was recorded live with the classic Wendy O. Willams band at the LAmour in Brooklyn, New York on the 24th of November 1984. Same program repeated on both sides Track listing: 1. Fuck n Roll 2. Aint None Of Your Business-including full uncut Banana Rap 3. Bump And Grind
