Whispering Band is one of Swedens longest running jazz bands. They were formed in Örebro in 1933, the same year that Adolf Hitler banned jazz music in Germany. The orchestra immediately became the audience’s favorite orchestra at Örebro’s former venues Blå Skeppet and Sportpalatset. Even the people from Karlskoga came to Örebro to dance to Whispering. The band recorded an EP in 1938 and another one in the fall of 1955 between those years the band experienced some of their best years as this period was the golden times for big band music. The record production started properly in 1974 when they released their first full length album, In The Mood, which was followed by Take The Train in 1978, both on Habima Records. The band has performed with lots of music stars such as Lill-Babs, Svante Thuresson, Hayati Kafe, Anki Hedmark, Per Fritzell and Knut Angred from Galenskaparna, Eva Eastwood, Linda Bengtzing, Gladys del Pilar to name some of them. In the 90s the band performed at several bigger latinamerican dance events and were often questioned why there werent any dance albums for latin dances with strict tempos for dancers. So the band recorded the Latin And Ballroom album.
