Description
The third album from White Skull was some sort of breakthrough album, it was the first to be released in the States. Whie Skull plays epic heavy metal at the same high-speed Grave Digger crunch they have always been about. When they first came on the scene White Skull got attention for being heavier and less keyboard-obsessed than other Italian metal bands. Grave Digger's Chris Boltendahl provides some guest vocals, and true to form he sounds more like Lovable Furry Old Grover than anyone you would be scared of. In all of the songs the guitars, drums, bass, and vocals catch the melody and attitude of the song and cast the listener into the aforementioned situation that the band is telling of. Songs such as ‘Gods of the Sea’ and the title track ‘Tales From the North’ are just beyond calculation and mere mortal words. The story literally becomes the focus rather than the music, and you become entwined in the entire experience. Track listing: 1. The Quest 2. Tales From The North 3. Asgard 4. Gods Of The Sea 5.
