Description

Wisdom was an Italian progressive power/heavy metal band formed in Naples in 1997. They debuted with the 3-track cd ep Burning Down in 1999 and returned with their one and only full length album, The Last Horizon, two years later. If you havent heard their mini album then dont worry. All three tracks on that EP can also be found on this full length album. The band has been labelled progressive but it goes from everything between melodic AOR to hardrock to classic heavy metal. Think Royal Hunt and Europe and when it comes to the faster tracks such as Time To Change then it will remind you of power metal acts such as Elegy or Stratovarius. Many hardrock groups thinks its necessary to throw in a ballad or two but for Wisdom it would have been better if these would have been left off as they feel more like fillers than anything else. The final suite, The Voices Of Wisom, is a 13 minutes epic track divided into 6-parts and is probably the sole reason for many to think its a progressive act. The artwork is lame and dont really say anything of what you can expect of the music on the cd but dont let this fool you as there are plenty of interesting things going on here. This album shouldnt be underestimated. Too bad they seems to have dissapeared after this.
