Words That Burn is a hardcore punk act from Wisconsin, Usa that features Eric Plekan who also writes for the anarcho-punk magazine Profane Existence. A magazine that was described as “the largest of the anarchist Punk fanzines in North America.” The magazine dealt with a very broad range of topics, including veganism, animal, women’s and minority rights, anti-fascist action and the punk lifestyle. That mentallity is also shown on the Profits Of The Christ EP from 2004. Sure the opening track 666-Pack is about their love for alcohol but then the singles goes into political and society things with tracks such as Profits Of The Christ, The Art Of Theft, Nike Air Genocide. If youre into crust punk then this is for you. It sounds more like what the label Profane Existence was releasing back in the 90s then an actual release from 2004. Its heavy and strong with some thick guitar work. Quite a solid release that sounds like something between Amebix, Chaotic End, Nausea and Forgotten Prophecy.
