Two now legendary jazz saxophonists, John Haley “Zoot” Sims and Scott Hamilton recorded live at Hagaskolans Aula in Borlänge , Sweden on the 24th of November 1984. Scott Hamilton has made many visits to Sweden and here he performs with Zoot Sims just a few months before Mr Sims passed away in Cancer. Throughout his career, Zoot Sims was famous for epitomizing the swinging musician, never playing an inappropriate phrase. He always sounded inspired, and although his style did not change much after the early 1950s, Zoot’s enthusiasm and creativity never wavered. We send a big thank you to Björn Petersen in Norway for forming Germini records in 1984 and releasing this now hard to find album so we can get a chance to hear this amazing show that was arranged by Borlänge Jazzklubb.
