Gingerpig is founded by Boudewijn Bonebakker, former guitarist at Gorefest. After several successful years with Gorefest it was time to do something completely different. After buying a Hammond organ, and getting a lot of inspiration out of the old-school seventies heavy rock, Boudewijn founded Gingerpig. The debut album “The Ways Of The Gingerpig” reveals a band that is a whole and knows no restrictions. The songs vary from long spun soundscapes to compact pop songs. Sometimes even with the typical Bonebakker-riffs which are also to be heard on the albums of Gorefest. The Ways Of The Gingerpig takes you on a trip like the old records of the seventies. Humane, warm, and full of experimental passion. One of the strongest tracks on the album, the over nine minute Dimlighted Heart, was released as a special limited numbered edition sold at the Roadburn festival
